The Sobaeksan Ecological Exploration Center is an institution specializing in ecological experiences and environmental education located within Sobaeksan National Park. It offers a variety of programs based on the outstanding natural ecosystems of the Sobaeksan region. Programs include hiking in Sobaeksan and ginseng experiences for physical health; forest meditation experiences for mental health; and wellness programs centered on exploring Buddhist cultural World Heritage sites for social well-being. In addition, the center offers short-term seasonal ecotourism programs, environmental education for future generations, cooking classes featuring local specialties, leading the way in ecological welfare services. Additionally, the center is equipped with facilities such as auditoriums, classrooms, and a dining hall for education, training, and conferences, and is available for use by both individuals and groups. Nearby tourist attractions include the Fox Ecological Observation Center, where visitors can observe foxes—a Class 1 endangered wild animal—as well as historical and cultural sites such as Buseoksa Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Sosu Seowon Confucian Academy.
