Suanbo Hot Springs Foot Bath Path

📍 35 Jujeongsan-ro, Suanbo-myeon, Chungju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do

It is said that the Suanbo Hot Springs have been naturally flowing since time immemorial. According to the *History of Goryeo*, they existed as early as the 9th year of King Hyeonjong’s reign, and the *Annals of the Joseon Dynasty* records that King Taejo, Yi Seong-gye, even used the Suanbo Hot Springs to treat a severe skin disease, attesting to their long history. It is the only hot spring in Korea where the hot spring water is managed centrally by the city of Chungju, and thanks to its focus on preserving the hot spring resources, it is recognized as high-quality water containing various minerals beneficial to human health. The Suanbo hot spring water is a slightly alkaline spring that emerges from a depth of 250 meters underground and contains minerals beneficial to the human body, such as calcium, sodium, fluoride, magnesium, and lithium. Foot baths using this Suanbo hot spring water help regulate metabolism, relaxing tense muscles and promoting a sense of psychological well-being. They are highly effective in relieving fatigue and stress and promoting restful sleep.
