The Oriental Medicine Resort: Chorakdang

📍 44-34, Gyemyeong-ro, Ulju-gun, Ulsan

Chorakdang, a traditional Korean medicine theme park, is a destination where visitors can enjoy health tours based on traditional Korean medicine. It was designated as part of the “Health Tour to Korea” program in 2001 by the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, an agency under the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Chorakdang’s facilities include a thatched pavilion, a yellow clay cave, an annex, a forest bathing area, Buromun Gate, Seongryudang Hall, a carp pond, examination rooms, treatment rooms, a yellow clay steam room, the Chorak Museum, Baekryeonjeong Pavilion, an artificial turf tennis court, and a hiking trail (Heo Jun Walking Trail). At Chorakdang, visitors can receive traditional Korean medicine treatments and consultations in a thatched-roof house with an old-world charm. The center combines bath therapy, traditional Korean heat therapy, dietary therapy, and exercise therapy, all conducted in a natural and traditional manner. Entering the forest path behind Chorakdang leads to the Heo Jun Forest Bathing Trail. Visitors can enjoy forest bathing while walking along this trail; for those visiting for medical treatment, it serves as a space—along with the yellow clay steam room—where they can heal in harmony with nature.
